Whaddup! I've been busy with a lot of stuff lately (like looking for sponsors and redesigning this blog) and like every busy person, I crave for a moment of leisure after finishing my work. Some people doze off, some eat a delicious meal, some watch their favorite shows, but for me, playing games and listening to music is what I can truly call my "leisure moments". Lucky for me, I can enjoy both-yes, both!-with these three Android apps I've found which are truly worth checking out.
1. Cytus

Beautiful hand-drawn art style |
Each song can be played in the Easy or Hard level, with 9 different levels of difficulty. |
Cytus is available to download for free on Google Play.
2. Deemo
Deemo is my personal favorite. I love its music far more than Cytus. Unlike Cytus with its modern songs, Deemo is more on the classical side of music, since the main instrument featured is the piano. I love Deemo's classical music since it is not the type of classical music which puts you to sleep. Rather, it is somewhat lively and some compositions can even tell stories without the help of lyrics. You can just feel the music itself.
Also, what I love about Deemo is its story. It tells about a creature called Deemo who plays his piano in solitude until one day a girl falls from his ceiling without remembering her past. Deemo helps the little girl get back to her world above the ceiling by playing the piano which in return makes the tree grow taller with each song. That is where the gameplay comes in. The higher you score on a song, the higher the tree grows. Deemo is made by Rayark Inc., the same company who made Cytus, so Deemo also features beautiful hand-drawn art.
The gameplay is really easy. You just tap the notes as it reaches the Line. You must maintain a combo in order to gain a higher score.
But I'll have to admit, I don't like it being only a trial version. You need to buy the full version in order to continue the story. The tree won't grow taller without buying the full version so that sucks. But the free version is fine if you just want to enjoy the music. The free version includes more than 10 songs anyway.
3. TunesHolic
In light of the Tap Tap Revenge franchise coming to an end, I simply missed the game and I searched for a new one as close to Tap Tap as possible. And my search has indeed paid off since I found TunesHolic, a rhythm game that can be played using your own songs! Now that is amazing.
Although TunesHolic can play your songs, I'll have to admit it does not really set the notes well with the song so in some moments you might feel that the notes are not aligned right to the song. But you can calibrate the notes on Settings so that's a relief.
Also, you can only import 5 of your songs at first since there are only five slots, and you'll have to spend 200 coins importing one song. You'll need to win some songs in order to get more coins and the game is not much of a rewarder either (20 coins for an S grade on a song) so the best way to earn coins is to complete the Attendance (minimum of 50 coins earned). With each passing day, the Attendance reward increases. Also, after 5 consecutive days of Attendance, you get a gem which is used to buy a new slot so that you can get to import more songs.
The gameplay is much like Tap Tap. You just tap the notes when it reaches the tapping area. TunesHolic can be played either in Portrait Mode or in Landscape Mode. The songs can be played in different levels of difficulty, too. Easy, Normal, Hard, and Very Hard/Extreme are the levels of difficulty.
Here are more pictures of the gameplay:
TunesHolic can be downloaded and installed for free.
So that's it for this Gaming post! All of these games are perfect for anyone who enjoys music and gaming. What better way to enjoy both than to enjoy them together! Plus, all of these games are free to download so get your phone/tablet and start installing these great games!
May you enjoy every tap,
