Percy Jackson & the Olympians Gets New Covers!

After almost 10 years of existence, Percy Jackson & the Olympians has been given a complete makeover! This month of February, we say hello to these new covers of the Percy Jackson series made by John Rocco, the same guy who made the original ones. Fans like me have been worried that the new ones would not live up to our expectations, but I think I stand for all the PJO fans out there in saying that these new covers are just perfect!

The Lightning Thief now features Poseidon, while retaining the "back-turned Percy" from the previous cover.

On the new cover of The Sea of Monsters, we finally know what's behind the gigantic eye on the original cover. We are also given the feeling that the book's main story actually has something to do with the sea (hence the name).

For The Titan's Curse, we get to sea a clearer view of Percy and his pegasus, Blackjack. The grape vines have also disappeared, giving us a freely flying Blackjack.

The Battle of the Labyrinth's new cover gives great emphasis to the Labyrinth itself, which makes perfect sense since the title itself has the word "Labyrinth" in it. (Right?)

And last but not the least, The Last Olympian! The Last Olympian pays homage to the old cover by retaining Percy on his pegasus with the Empire State Building on the background. But this time we see things on a whole new perspective, with everything clearer and filled with color.

When you put the covers side by side, you will see a breathtaking panoramic picture of all the covers combined! (see first pic) And speaking of side-by-side, the covers are not the only ones that form a picture when placed side by side. The spines also show a simple silhouette of New York when shelved on your bookshelf.

What are your thoughts about the new PJO covers? Do you love it, or dislike it? Feel free to comment your thoughts about the new PJO covers below. :)

May the gods not smite thee,
