"I thought things would change when I found the others. We would stop running. We would fight the Mogadorians. And we would win.

But I was wrong. Even though we have come together, we barely escaped from the Mogadorians with our lives. And now we’re in hiding, trying to figure out our next move.

The six of us are powerful—but we’re not yet strong enough to take on their entire army. We haven’t discovered the full extent of our Legacies. We haven’t learned to work together. And there’s still so much that we don’t know about the Elders or their plan for us. Time is running out, and there’s only one thing we know for certain: We need to find Number Five before they do.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
I am Number Four. I was supposed to be next.
But I’m still alive.

This battle is far from over."

The Lorien Legacies is basically a sci-fi series about a race of aliens called the "Loric" who were wiped out by another alien race called the "Mogadorians". The only members left of their race called the "Garde" were sent to Earth, each having numbers for names and a guard which they call their "Cepan". They all take different paths while under a protection of a charm in which as long as they remain apart, they can only be killed in order of their numbers. Each Garde possesses different powers called "Legacies". With these Legacies, they aim to stop the Mogadorians from conquering our planet and to restore their own planet, Lorien. But until then, they remain in hiding while they develop their Legacies and find each other.

The main character of the series is John Smith, aka Number Four. The first book, I Am Number Four, starts with numbers One to Three already killed, so that makes him next in line. I'll cut to the chase, so John befriends a human named Sam Goode, who has a missing father that is directly linked to the Loric. He dates a human girl named Sarah Hart. He finds number Six. He finds a beagle which is actually a chimaera (shapeshifting creatures form Lorien) whom he names Bernie Kosar (Bk for short).  He gets his Cepan killed. Blah, blah, blah. They go on an adventure to find the others, leaving Sarah behind. End of story. (I'm leaving the important details as to not give spoilers to those who haven't read the series yet)

The second book, The Power of Six, talks about how Six finds number Seven. She also finds a girl which was supposedly number Ten. Meanwhile, John finds Nine, while losing Sam in the process. End of story.

In the third book, The Rise of Nine, Six, along with Seven and Ten, finds Eight and reunites with John and Nine. Together they attack the Mogs' hideout, and finds Sarah in the process. They all fight Setrakus Ra, the Mogadorian supreme leader. They lose, but no one gets killed. End of story.

Now, in the Fall of Five, the team finds Sam, already reunited with his long lost father. They help each other in finding Five and at last finds him. They are finally complete. They train alongside each other to prepare for upcoming fights with the Mogadorians. Things were going smoothly, although Five doesn't have his Chest with him. So they plan a mission to retrieve Five's Chest. Ella keeps having nightmares and Five keeps being "detached" from the team. While they search for Five's Chest, they discover a traitor among them. The remaining part of the team were left at their hideout, not knowing that someone had been betraying them all along.

Trust me, you would hate this traitor more than anyone else, and it isn't Nine, even with his crappy attitude. One of the Garde also dies, which just makes the novel more disappointing. But I can assure you, it isn't Four. Another non-Garde member of their team also dies.. But there's still hope that this member did not die, because it was not yet directly stated. But a new ally joins them in the end, which makes the next book exciting.

All in all I was disappointed at the story. About 70 percent of the book was full of boring stories and lacked action, and the remaining 30 percent was where everything went wrong. Plus, the ending was once again a cliff hanger. It's by far the worst book of the series in my opinion. But you'll probably get to enjoy the good parts of the story. I just can't wait for the next book to come out. Hopefully questions will be answered on the next book.

That's it for this book review! Till then, stay safe and always keep reading! :)

May the legacies be always with you,

P.S. Sorry for the long post. Here's a sack of potatoes!
