A Reflection
Is the "A Reflection" part too MMK? HAHAHA. I can't believe it's been 2 years since I first started blogging. And I most certainly can't believe that a whole year has passed since my first blogversary post! Time sure flies fast. The past year hasn't been very good in terms of how often I blog, but this past year had also been the one where I got to go to events such as book signings and book fairs, which are always fun. And I've met a lot of new people because of this blog, too; friends, fellow bloggers, and not to mention real-life authors themselves! Last August I got to go to my very first book signing where I met Alex London, then the next one came in November where I met Marie Lu, then February was when I met the James Frey, and just this Sunday I got to meet The Grisha Trilogy's Leigh Bardugo (blog post coming soon ;) )! And I won't forget to mention the friends I made during those events too, for sure. Thanks and you know who you are ;).
This past year had been hectic and busy, especially since I started college. Which leads me to my next agenda. I've been thinking about it lately... I thought I wasn't doing a good job keeping up with time when it comes to blogging regularly. Ever since I turned this blog into a solid book blog, I have been having trouble posting more often. All I ever thought about this blog being a book blog was posting book reviews. But since college started for me, finding reading time has been very very hard. I was able to read during the first semester, but I was pretty positive that I could do a better job during the second semester if I cut the reading... and I did.
Which led me to the question: How will my blog thrive now? My daily commutes are such a pain and are so boring that I can't help to think and observe things while commuting. And I have discovered that there are so much to talk about and share via blogging! Which led me to this thought: What if I start a series talking about stuff that goes on in my head, or in my life, whether book or not book related? I thought it would be a way to be more personal to my readers (don't worry Mom, I won't share any private and personal details!) and at the same time I could blog more regularly. Compared to the read-a-book > write-a-review > post-online process I'm doing, I could blog more often and at the same time release these insights that I get while, say, waiting at the MRT station, you know what I'm saying?
Which now leads me to my next question: If I do that, is this blog still a book blog? Or do I have to change it into something else again? This has been a problem of mine ever since I started blogging. I have a blog identity crisis. I adore books with a passion and they have a special place in my heart but I also have LOTS of other things to ramble about in my blog. Things that can't be easily put into one category. Should I make another blog? Or just change this blog? Or do something else? Or do nothing at all? Ugh, I hate not knowing what to do. Which is why here I am, rambling about it on the Internet, hoping that that clickbait title will get this post at least a handful of readers who can give me opinions on what I should do. So if you ever read this, comment whatever you want to say. Haha. Did you even understand everything I said? Haha. I literally just babbled on the Internet right now. I didn't even re-read this post. Haha.
If you have read up to this point, or even if you took the time to at least click this blog post of mine, I wish you every happiness and I wish that life will always be good to you. Once again, I raise my virtual champagne glass (filled with Sprite of course, I'm not legal yet haha) and propose a toast to remember and thank the blogging year that has passed and to this brand new year, I wish it would be full of great things for this blog! Cheers! *clink*
P.S. I'm planning on revamping my blog layout again. Just sayin'.
